Two American officers demonstrate a method applied to them by the Japanese to make them confess any "guilties" committed. They were beaten over the head with bamboo poles and then slapped with a Japanese shoe, with the same effect as a "rubber hose." Camp Rokuroshi, Japan

Devouring their first American meal in three years, consisting of rations dropped by parachute from American planes, are PW's (L? to R?) 2nd Lt. Tomi? K.? St?bury, Asbury Park, N.J.; 2nd Lt. Robert ????, Nashville, Tenn.; and 1st Lt. Fred F. Garrett, Riverside, Cal., who lost his leg when his plane was shot down by "ack-ack" over the Marshall Islands.

14 Sept. 1945 -- Interior of barracks in the Tsumori Prison Camp, showing where the men slept. There were 52 men living in these stalls sleeping on mats. There was approximately 2 feet of space allotted for each man. This is one of the type of barracks that were used in this particular camp and might be considered a model barracks of the type in any camp, ???? when high ranking Jap officers made inspections.
