KIHEI IKEDA, San Francisco, graduate of Tokio Imperial University, reported to be a relative of ATUO SIGEHARO, formerly Japanese Naval Attache to Brazil. KANEJIRO SHIMISU, San Jose, Calif., donated 926 yen to Japanese Army in 1940, made trip to Japan from '39 to '41. RYUSAN HAYASE, Monterey, Calif., reported by ONI to have contributed funds to Japan and to have made Japanese propaganda speaking tours. Mrs. FUKU ITASHIKI, very actively pro-Japanese. It includes those searches and apprehensions conducted and made as an outgrowth of individual complaints concerning individual enemy aliens as well as members of those organizations considered as subversive and organized for the benefit of a foreign power and to the detriment of the U.S. These figures include all activities in the offices within the Western Defense Command and are current to and including 12 o'clock noon Sunday, February 15. Multiple searches are to be conducted in the vicinity of the Vancouver Barracks on Tuesday, February 17, QORWM Similar searches are being planned in the vicinity of the airport at Dallesport, Washington, and in the vicinity of Wapato, Washington, where there is a considerable concentration of Japanese farmers. Individual searches will be made as the outgrowth of individual complaints. San Diego. There will be approximately 50 searches and arrests of Japanese made in the San Diego district during the coming week. Los Angeles. Raids will be conducted in the vicinity of Guadalupe, Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. During the later part of the week additional members of the Japanese organizations listed in the confidential memorandum from the Department to the Hearing Boards will be made. Portland. The premises will be searched and apprehensions made of approximately 25 alien Japanese who are members of the SOKOKU KAI in Portland and vicinity on February 18. Spot raids of Japanese premises in Portland living near vital bridges and waterfronts will be conducted on the 21st instant. Phoenix. Additional spot searches will be made largely upon individual complaints. Efforts are being made to obtain through the game wardens a list of all aliens who have obtained big game hunting licenses. A check will then be made to determine whether these aliens are still in possession of firearms. Salt Lake City. The premises of 3 alien Japanese who are the subjects of complaints and who reside in the vicinity of Price, Utah, will be searched on February 17. A similar search will be made of the premises of one Japanese near Garfield, Utah on February 19. The premises of 3 Japanese at Ely, Nevada will be searched on February 20. San Francisco. A total of 207 search warrants have already been issued for the search of Japanese premises in the vicinity of Sacramento, California. These searches will begin on the morning of Monday, February 16.
