Bloodsucker - Fukamota (a slave driving mill guard) Bull of the Woods - Ishida ( Sergeant Ishida, Camp Commander after Corporal Fujita) Chicken, or Suji's Girl Friend - Isono (suspected homosexual; see Suji) Clown or Pissy Pants - Morino Coffee Nerves - Miki ( A very nervous mill guard; always looking around for soldiers) Damei (Da-may) Kid - Miomai (Favorite word was "damei!," an expletive for "no damn good!? Horse Face - Oka (mill guard; self-explanatory) Kaigun - Motasiki (Camp staff member; did Officer of the Day and other duties) Philippine Slim - Hata (veteran of Philippine campaign; ore yard guard; disliked Americans) Sailor - Yamashita (mill guard) Slinky - Mill guard; looked the part; would stand watch, for a share, while we raided ship's stores. Suji, or Two Star Bastard - Taujina (Japanese medic; suspected homosexual; overruled Dr. Seid) The C. O., or Bloodsucker #2 - 1st.Lt. Naruwa The Good C. O. - 2nd. Asakawa The Old Sarge - Sgt. Kimura (Camp Commander a while; rank something like SgtMajor) Worry Wart or Four Eyes - Fukushima (another nervous guard; fearful of higher authority) Yosh! - 1st. Lt. Takanaka (used "yoshi, yoshi" as approval)
