Fairbanks,Alaska The residents of the Aleutian Island of Attu were taken to two locations. Mrs. Etta Jones was housed with the Australian Nurses from Rabaul in the Bund Hotel, Yokohama Yacht Club and Totsuka. See picture of nurses The other 54 residents were housed in Otaru, Hokkaido. Half did not survive internment. Only one baby born at the end of the war survived. The others born in Otaru died.
