Beginning
early in February, with the change in the war situation in northern
BURMA, each administrative force was made to move its prisoners of war
to places of safety. Although attempts were made to provide protection,
it became difficult to move prisoners, because of the violent change in
the battle situation after the middle of March. All were released
between the middle of March and the middle of April.
